New George Michael Song?

Right, so there I was, watching EastEnders and hearing George singing the grand total of four seconds; “Remember, forever-h…” I can’t say I’ve heard it, but then again, it may just be the gin and tonic I’ve just had. Is it an old song that I just can’t recognise – or did George give EE an exclusive? (If so, pretty wasteful exclusive, considering they played two words.)(Next time, give me the exclusive!)

Have a listen and see if you recognise it.

2 Tickets Available

I have 2 tickets for Wembley Stadium available if anyone didn’t get any. I’ve *no* idea where they are yet, but they’re in price bracket 2 (£75 each) so shouldn’t be too bad. I was lucky and got a pair of better ones (after 40 mins on Ticketmaster and 400 refresh/try again), so I basically just want my money back.

£75 + fee £8 per ticket. To keep things nice and simple I’ll only sell them together. So that’s £166 for 2 seated tickets to see George Michael live at Wembley Stadium.

Any takers?

Pop! Goes My Heart

Oh my God, I laughed so hard I cried when I first saw this spoof music video from the Hugh Grant film “Music & Lyrics”.

Hugh Grant practically looks a spitting image of Andrew Ridgeley, there’s a ’scene’ from “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, butt-shaking from “Wham! Rap”, a pisstake of Spandau Ballet (“…you are gold as silver…”). I also get a bit of a “Take On Me” (A-HA) vibe. lol. Nevermind the name: Pop!
It’s the perfect 80’s video. Really. Watch it.

Dear Diary…

…I thought of that time I had requested a meeting with him and his even better off boyfriend and they considered it but in the end decided that it wasn’t for them. I imagined what it could have been like, REALLY went for it, I was THIS close, when I opened my eyes and saw – to my absolute horror – a lady in her mid-50s with her mouth wide open. I looked at her, she looked at me, we both desperately tried to think – very quickly – of something to say or do, when I quite literally slipped out of bed and fell down on the floor so hard they must have heard it down the street…

Good Old George

This so deserves a diary entry. lol

At the top of the stairs

When gallery owner Kenny Goss offered the Dallas home he shares with pop star George Michael for a private dinner following opening night at NorthPark’s Fashion at the Park, it was with the understanding that he and George would be unable to attend.

That turned out to be half right.

Mr. Michael has been in Dallas for about a month preparing for the May 18 launch of his 25 Live stadium tour of Europe.

Wednesday night, following Fashion at the Park’s debut runway show by Ferragamo, 75 select guests headed to Kenny and George’s home, where a dinner tent had been built over the pool. Kenny greeted guests like NorthPark owners Nancy Nasher and husband David Haemisegger , Ferragamo menswear designer Massimiliano Giornetti and Mr. Michael’s childhood friend, composer David Austin.

Only a handful of guests knew that 1) George Michael is actually quite shy, and 2) He was upstairs during dinner preparing to head back to London.

Another private gig

British pop star GEORGE MICHAEL is being paid $1.4 million (GBP750,000) to perform at retail tycoon SIR PHILIP GREEN’s forthcoming birthday party in the Maldives next week.

OK, so guys, how about we put in a few quid each and just ask the guy to perform for us in private, huh? Everybody has their price, and George’s is clearly somewhere between £750k and £1.5m. So, what do you say?

MORE DATES & George first artist to play new Wembley

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — (MARKET WIRE) — March 04, 2007 — George Michael will be the first artist to play a concert at the new Wembley Stadium on 9 June 2007 as part of his British and European Stadium tour.

The tour will kick start in Aarhus Stadium in Denmark on the 18 May and will visit Manchester, Glasgow, Plymouth and Norwich as well as France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Holland and Hungary.

The brand new 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium is set to be one of the greatest entertainment venues in the world hosting some of the biggest and most exciting global events in the sports and music calendar.

Wembley Stadium has always featured prominently in Michael’s career. He has played many of his most memorable concerts there, including Live Aid in 1985, Wham’s farewell concert with Andrew Ridgeley in 1986, the Nelson Mandela concert in 1988, the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in 1992 and Net Aid in 1999. Michael had no hesitation when the opportunity came along to play the first music concert at the new Wembley Stadium.

Alex Horne, Managing Director of Wembley Stadium, said: “It’s fantastic news that George Michael is to play Wembley Stadium’s opening concert. He’s no stranger to this great stage having performed at the old stadium both with Wham! at Live Aid and also as a solo artist, so this is a fitting first gig in the new stadium.

I’m sure this will be a very hot ticket and we are looking forward to putting the stadium back on the world map as a major music destination…”

This announcement follows an extraordinary year for George Michael when in September 2006 he embarked on his sell-out ‘25 Live’ European tour – his first in 15 years – and released his number one album, ‘Twenty Five’.

Having sold-out in mere minutes, ‘25 Live’ entertained over 650,000 delighted fans over the course of a 49 date tour, in 11 different countries, receiving unprecedented praise from fans and press alike:

The Sun said, “George proved he is simply one of the best vocalists this country has ever produced.”

The Mail on Sunday said “King George still reigns supreme”

The Observer pronounced it as “a masterclass in pop genius”.

George Michael is one of the world’s most successful male artists, selling over 85 million records globally and encompassing 11 British No.1 singles, eight British No.1 albums and six US No.1 singles.
